As November begins, the weather has taken a new turn across North India. According to Prof. Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a weather scientist at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), a new western disturbance will become active from November 3, which will affect the Himalayan region.
Due to its impact, temperatures are expected to drop over the next four to five days, and the winter chill will start to increase.

Rain and Snow Expected in North India

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this western disturbance is likely to cause rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Meanwhile, fog and cold winds may begin to affect Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and Punjab in the coming days.

Light Rainfall Recorded in Several UP Districts

During the past 24 hours, eastern Uttar Pradesh saw light to moderate rainfall in districts such as Varanasi, Ballia, Ghazipur, Deoria, and Gorakhpur.
In western UP, drizzle was also reported in parts of Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, and Saharanpur.
Weather experts say that light rain may continue intermittently in some areas over the next few days.

Pleasant Weather in Lucknow and Noida

According to IMD, the weather in the state capital Lucknow will remain pleasant on Saturday, with partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 29°C, while the minimum may drop to 20°C.
In Noida and Delhi-NCR, light fog is likely to appear in the early morning hours.
Districts such as Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Shamli may also experience mild fog and a slight chill.

Colder Days Ahead from Next Week

Meteorologists have warned that after November 3, once the western disturbance becomes active, cold winds will spread rapidly across the plains.
As a result, the minimum temperature may fall by 3–4°C, leading to noticeably colder mornings and evenings in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar during the coming week.
