If you live in Bihar and are planning to step out for work or travel today, knowing the latest weather update is essential. Bihar’s weather has been highly unpredictable recently. Some areas face flood risks, while others eagerly await rainfall. Let’s check what the day holds for major cities like Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, and Gaya.

Patna Weather: No Alert but Light Rain Expected:

Good news for Patna residents—there is no special alert today. However, this doesn’t mean you can leave your umbrella at home! According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon activity will continue in Patna. Clouds are expected throughout the day, with light to moderate rainfall possible. This rain may bring some relief from the city’s rising temperature, and in the evening and night, humidity (70–80%) may make the air feel slightly cool. Carrying a raincoat or umbrella while stepping out would be wise.

What About Other Cities? Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, and Gaya:

  • Bhagalpur: A yellow alert has been issued here! Thunderstorms and rainfall are expected, so step out only for essential work.
  • Muzaffarpur and Vaishali: No direct alerts have been issued for these districts. Being close to Champaran, cloudy conditions are likely, but it’s best to check local updates for safety.
  • Gaya: Gaya is not on the alert list either. Monsoon activity may occur, but there is no yellow alert for heavy rain.

Bihar’s 23 Districts Under Yellow Alert: Flood Risk Remains:

If you are traveling to other parts of Bihar, note that 23 districts are under a yellow alert today. This indicates the possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds (30–40 km/h) and thunderstorms.

The alert covers these districts: East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Saran, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, Arwal, Aurangabad, Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Khagaria, Munger, Banka, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, and Purnia.

Flooding remains a major concern. Continuous rainfall in Nepal has raised the water levels of the Kosi and its tributaries. Many districts, including Supaul and Madhubani, are already experiencing waterlogging in homes, severely affecting daily life.

Advice: Check your local weather report before stepping out. Exercise special caution if you are in a yellow alert district.
