Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana : The Madhya Pradesh government has once again launched the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana to provide relief to the state’s soybean farmers. This year, heavy rainfall has severely affected the soybean crop, raising concerns that farmers may not receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the markets. Under this scheme, the difference between the market price and MSP will be directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts. The sale period under the scheme will run from 24 October 2025 to 15 January 2026.

 Objective of the Scheme

The primary aim of the scheme is to ensure that farmers receive a fair price for their produce, so they do not incur losses while selling their crop in the market. The state government has clarified that if the soybean market price falls below the MSP of ₹5,328 per quintal for the Kharif 2025-26 season, the difference will be paid to farmers within 15 days.

How Bhavantar Payments Will Be Calculated

According to Nishant Varvade, Secretary of the Agriculture Department, the model rate for soybean will be determined based on the average selling price of the last 14 days across approximately 300 markets in the state. The difference between the MSP and this model rate will be directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Over 6 Lakh Farmers Already Registered

Officials report that more than 6 lakh farmers have already registered for the scheme. Madhya Pradesh contributes roughly 35% of India’s total soybean production, making this scheme particularly important for the state’s agricultural sector. The government aims to ensure that as many farmers as possible benefit from this initiative.

 Heavy Rainfall Damaged Soybean Crops

Excessive rainfall in several regions of the state has caused significant crop losses, with moisture and pest attacks affecting quality. Falling market prices have further stressed farmers. In this scenario, the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana provides a crucial financial cushion for soybean growers.

 Registration is Mandatory

The government has emphasized that only registered farmers will be eligible for benefits. Farmers must provide complete and accurate information on the DBT portal, including bank account details, land records, and crop data. To streamline the process, the government is also leveraging the central government’s AgriStack system.

 More Registration Centers Added

Initially, 58 cooperative societies served as registration centers. Due to high demand, the government has now increased the number of centers to 78 to ensure that all eligible farmers can easily complete their registration.

Conclusion

The re-launch of the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana brings a new ray of hope for Madhya Pradesh’s soybean farmers. If implemented transparently, the scheme could significantly improve the economic condition of soybean producers in the state.
