The Haryana Government has taken another major step toward strengthening the economic empowerment of women. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has released the second installment of the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, transferring nearly ₹148 crore directly into the bank accounts of 7,01,965 beneficiaries.
The announcement was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, where Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi was also present.
The Chief Minister stated that financial assistance under the scheme will now be provided every three months, and the entire three-month payment will be released in a single installment. According to him, the initiative is not just a financial aid program but a significant step toward ensuring dignity, stability, and economic independence for women.
The Lado Lakshmi mobile app was launched on 25 September, on the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The first installment of the scheme was released on 1 November, which benefited thousands of women.
By 30 November, a total of 9,00,592 women had submitted applications through the app. Out of these:
The Chief Minister urged all eligible women who have not yet completed their final KYC to do so at the earliest.
Women who are 23 years or older and belong to families with an annual income below ₹1 lakh are eligible for the scheme. A key highlight is that all eligible women within the same household can apply together.
The entire process is online, and applications can be submitted from anywhere through the Lado Lakshmi mobile app.
The government has ensured a quick and transparent verification system. Once an application is submitted, all verification steps are completed within 24 to 48 hours.
According to CM Saini, the scheme is receiving an overwhelming response, with 3,000 to 4,000 new applications being submitted daily. This shows that the initiative is effectively delivering financial security to women across Haryana and generating widespread interest.
