Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has taken a major initiative to reduce the dependence of farmers on chemical fertilizers and to improve soil fertility. Farmers who grow Dhaincha as green manure on their fields will now receive a financial assistance of ₹1,000 per acre. This benefit will be transferred directly into the farmers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Dhaincha is a leguminous crop that is ploughed back into the soil before harvesting, turning it into organic green manure. This practice not only enriches the soil naturally but also offers several benefits:

Haryana Agriculture Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana stated that the scheme aims to encourage farmers towards organic and sustainable farming practices. He said:
“Dhaincha is a natural fertilizer that improves soil health and cuts down input costs. We want every farmer to take advantage of this initiative.”

Important: Farmers must upload the crop photo on time. Failure to do so will result in loss of eligibility for the scheme.
To Be Implemented in 22 Districts – Lakhs to Benefit
The scheme will be implemented across 22 districts of Haryana, covering 4 lakh acres of land under the crop diversification plan. Nearly 3 lakh farmers are expected to benefit directly from this initiative.
According to the Agriculture Minister, this initiative embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi's farmer-first approach and is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini.
“We want our farmers to shift towards organic farming and adopt environment-friendly practices. Crops like Dhaincha make farming self-reliant, low-cost, and sustainable.”
The state government has urged farmers to register on the portal at the earliest and participate in the scheme to avail direct cash benefits.
