During this year’s Kharif season, many farmers in Rajasthan suffered major crop losses due to heavy rainfall and floods. To provide relief, the state government conducted a detailed crop damage survey. Following this, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved the distribution of financial aid to more than 50 lakh affected farmers across 31 districts who suffered losses due to excessive rainfall.
According to the Chief Minister’s decision, agriculture assistance will be provided from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Proposals to declare affected villages as “scarcity-hit” have also been approved. Under this scheme, over ₹1,000 crore in compensation will be distributed among the affected farmers.
The Chief Minister has directed all District Collectors to complete the necessary formalities and ensure timely payment to all eligible beneficiaries.
In an official notification, the Rajasthan government has declared 7,451 villages across 12 districts as scarcity-hit. Farmers in these villages who suffered 33% or more crop loss due to floods will now be eligible for agricultural input subsidies.
This provision will remain in effect until March 31, 2026.
According to Shefali Kushwaha, Deputy Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief & Civil Defense, the affected districts include Banswara, Beawar, Dungarpur, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Nagaur, Rajsamand, Didwana-Kuchaman, Sawai Madhopur, Sriganganagar, Balotra, and Chittorgarh.
In total, 98 tehsils across these districts will receive relief assistance.
The government’s decision is based on the crop inspection (Girdawari) report for Kharif season Samvat 2082 (2025–26). This initiative ensures that farmers affected by natural calamities receive timely financial support to rebuild their livelihoods and resume agricultural activities.
