According to the latest report from the Meteorological Department, 0.5 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Lucknow on Wednesday, which resulted in a 1.5°C drop in the daytime temperature. Due to sunshine in the afternoon, the minimum temperature in the capital was recorded at 14°C.
According to IMD (India Meteorological Department), rainfall and hailstorm are expected in Uttar Pradesh during the last week of December. On December 27, there is a possibility of heavy winds with rainfall and hailstorms. As a result, an alert has been issued for rain on Friday and Saturday. This change is expected to significantly increase the cold.
Senior Scientist Atul Kumar Singh from the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, stated that the weather will be clear on December 26 across the state. However, dense fog is expected in districts like Deoria, Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, and Gonda.
Additionally, an alert for dense fog has been issued for districts such as Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and Baghpat.
Dense Fog in Western UP: Dense fog is also expected in western Uttar Pradesh districts such as Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Bijnor, Amroha, and Moradabad. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Bulandshahr was recorded at 8°C, the lowest in the state.
Effect of Snowfall in the Mountains: Senior Scientist Atul stated that the snowfall in the northern mountains is affecting Uttar Pradesh. Over the next three days, the minimum temperature may drop by 3 to 4°C. Furthermore, after December 27, there is an expected decrease of 2 to 3°C in the maximum temperature.
