Great news for farmers in Madhya Pradesh! They will now have access to the latest agricultural technologies, modern equipment, and government schemes — all under one roof. The state government has announced a series of Kisan Melas (farmers' fairs) across every division, starting on May 3, 2025, from Mandsaur in the Ujjain division.
Madhya Pradesh’s Minister for Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development, Edal Singh Kansana, stated that these fairs will showcase innovations in agriculture, food processing, horticulture, and animal husbandry. In addition, farmers will receive detailed information about government schemes and have an opportunity to get their queries resolved.
At these fairs, exhibition stalls will display modern farming techniques, high-quality seeds, advanced irrigation tools, solar pumps, and various farm machinery. Agriculture department officials will also guide farmers on how to benefit from government schemes.
The minister also announced that a state-level Kisan Mela will be organized in October 2025. Moreover, the government has set an ambitious target to install 10 lakh solar pumps within the next year — a step aimed at empowering farmers with energy independence and reducing their dependence on electricity.
Launch of 'Madhya Pradesh Krishak Kalyan Mission'
The state cabinet has given in-principle approval to launch the "Madhya Pradesh Krishak Kalyan Mission". Under this mission, farmers will gain access to benefits from schemes related to agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, and agri-based industries — all through a single platform. This mission aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
Focus on Income Growth and Malnutrition Eradication:
The primary objective of the state government is to enhance the income of farmers and cattle rearers while also addressing malnutrition through agriculture-linked initiatives. The government is committed to achieving these goals through structured and energetic planning.
Starting May 3 in Mandsaur, these Kisan Melas will be held across Madhya Pradesh, aiming to empower farmers with knowledge, make them self-reliant, and open new doors of opportunity. More than just events, these fairs are set to become a catalyst for progress and prosperity in the state’s agricultural sector.
