Bhopal: A big relief for farmers in Madhya Pradesh! The state government has announced a major scheme to promote solar-powered irrigation by providing up to 90% subsidy on solar pumps. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared that farmers can now install solar pumps in their fields at a very nominal cost.
With this initiative, farmers will be able to irrigate their crops using free solar electricity, freeing them from high diesel and power bills.
Under this new scheme, solar pumps will be made available to farmers at heavily discounted prices. Beneficiaries can choose between 5 HP, 7.5 HP, and 10 HP solar pumps depending on their farm’s irrigation needs. These pumps will allow farmers to run irrigation systems without depending on the conventional electricity supply.
Thanks to the high government subsidy, the cost of solar pumps for farmers has dropped dramatically:
This means farmers are getting up to 90% financial assistance, making it one of the most generous subsidy programs in the country.
Interested farmers can apply for the Madhya Pradesh Solar Pump Yojana through both online and offline modes:
According to the state government, this scheme will reduce farmers’ dependence on traditional electricity and diesel for irrigation. Using solar energy will lower cultivation costs, promote green energy, and benefit the environment.
The Madhya Pradesh Solar Pump Scheme is a major step toward making farmers financially stronger and energy self-reliant — truly lighting up the fields and the future of agriculture in the state.
