Under this scheme, farmers can set up a vermi compost unit on their farms and receive up to 50% subsidy or a maximum of ₹10,000 in financial assistance.

• Temple priests managing temple lands are also eligible
• The land ownership record (Jamabandi) must not be older than 6 months
• Must build a vermi compost unit measuring 20 ft x 3 ft x 2.5 ft
• Must purchase and use 8–10 kg earthworms for composting

How to Apply Online?

Farmers can apply online through the Raj Kisan Sathi portal to avail benefits under the scheme.

Online Application Steps:

1. Visit the Raj Kisan Sathi portal
2. Go to the “Schemes” section and select “Goverdhan Organic Fertilizer Scheme”
3. Log in using SSO ID or register as a new user
4. Fill in details like:
   • Farmer’s name
   • Aadhaar number
   • Land information
   • Number of cows
5. Upload all required documents
6. Submit the form and download the acknowledgment receipt

How to Build a Vermi Compost Unit?

Vermi composting is a natural process where earthworms convert organic waste into rich manure. Farmers can install these units near their fields or cattle sheds.

Procedure:

1. Construct a pit or concrete unit of size 20 ft x 3 ft x 2.5 ft
2. Layer it with cow dung, leaves, vegetable waste, etc.
3. Add earthworms on top
4. Maintain moisture in the unit
5. In 45–60 days, high-quality organic compost is ready

How Are Beneficiaries Selected?

• 50 farmers will be selected from each block
• Selection is based on application priority and document verification
• After verification and inspection, the subsidy will be directly transferred to the farmer’s bank account via DBT
