Rural families living in kutcha houses in Rajasthan have a golden opportunity to benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana). Under the directive of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, eligible beneficiaries can now apply from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones. The government has introduced a digital application process to make it simpler and more transparent.
Who is Eligible for the Scheme?
According to Gaurav Budania, Chief Executive Officer of the Sawai Madhopur Zila Parishad, the scheme aims to assist poor and homeless families who do not have a permanent house. The primary beneficiaries include:
Homeless individuals
Tenants living in rented accommodations
Those residing in kutcha houses
People earning a livelihood through begging
Members of tribal communities
Bonded laborers
Key Points:
Beneficiaries will undergo geo-tagging.
Aadhaar card, job card, and bank account details are mandatory for application.
If a female member is present in the family, she will be the primary beneficiary.
Who is Not Eligible?
Applicants will not qualify for the scheme if they possess any of the following:
A motorized three-wheeler or four-wheeler
A farmer credit card with a limit of ₹50,000 or more
A government job or are an income tax payer
A monthly income exceeding ₹15,000
More than 2.5 acres of agricultural land
Register Before March 31 – Limited Time Offer!
The government has instructed that all eligible beneficiaries must be enrolled by March 31, 2025. Under this scheme, beneficiaries will receive financial assistance totaling ₹1,55,940, including:
₹1,20,000 for house construction
₹23,940 as labor assistance under MGNREGA
₹12,000 for toilet construction
