The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana) is a crucial government initiative aimed at providing financial support to small and marginal farmers across India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, directly transferred to their bank accounts every four months. So far, 18 installments have been credited, and farmers are now eagerly waiting for the 19th installment.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the 19th installment of PM Kisan Yojana will be released on February 24, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the installment during an event in Samastipur, Bihar, on the occasion of Karpoori Thakur’s 101st birth anniversary.
Since its inception in 2019, the PM Kisan Yojana has significantly benefited Indian farmers by ensuring direct financial aid without intermediaries. As per government records, over ₹3.16 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method.
The 18th installment, released in October 2024, benefited 9.58 crore farmers, which was 32 lakh more than the 17th installment, highlighting the scheme’s growing outreach and impact.
Not all farmers will receive the 19th installment, as the government has made Farmer Registry (Farmer e-KYC) mandatory. Farmers who fail to complete this process before the deadline (January 31, 2025) will not receive the upcoming installment.
