India: Unemployed youth across the country have a reason to rejoice. The Central Government has launched the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat Employment Scheme (PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana 2025). Under this scheme, young job seekers securing their first employment will receive financial assistance of up to ₹15,000. Additionally, private employers hiring fresh talent will also receive incentive support.
Scheme Duration and Objectives
Start Date: 1 August 2025
End Date: 31 July 2027
Goal: To provide employment opportunities to approximately 3.5 crore youth over two years.
The scheme aims to boost private sector employment and help youth secure their first job, fostering financial independence and reducing unemployment.
Financial Assistance for First-Time Job Seekers
Under Part-A of the scheme:
Youth employed for the first time in an EPFO-registered company are eligible for up to ₹15,000.
The assistance is paid in two installments:
First installment: After 6 months of employment
Second installment: After 12 months of service and completion of a Financial Literacy Program
Employer Incentives
Under Part-B, private companies hiring new employees will receive government incentives:
₹3,000 per month per new employee for two years.
For manufacturing sector companies, this benefit can extend to the third and fourth year.
Eligibility Criteria
For Youths:
First job must be in an EPFO-registered company
Monthly gross salary should be less than ₹1 lakh
Job must start between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027
Applicant should not be an existing EPFO member or part of an exempted trust
For Employers:
Must be registered with EPFO
Ensure correct gross salary details are submitted for each employee in ECR
Submit the application and save a printout for reference
