Severe Weather Conditions Expected in Eastern India:
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of eastern India are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and hailstorms today. Additionally, a fresh western disturbance is expected to impact northwest India from February 25, bringing heavy rainfall and snowfall to multiple states.
The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall and snowfall between February 25 and 28 in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Strong winds and hailstorms are also expected in the western Himalayan region during this period.
In the national capital, shallow fog is expected in the morning, followed by clear skies during the day. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 12°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 25°C. However, from February 24 onwards, temperatures are likely to rise. Unseasonal rainfall is also expected in Delhi on February 27 and 28.
Given the weather conditions, the IMD’s Agro-Met division has issued an advisory for farmers, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
