Farmers, Get Ready to Sell Wheat! Procurement to Begin in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram from This Date

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to start the wheat procurement process for the Rabi marketing season 2025-26. In Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram divisions, the procurement will begin on March 1, 2025, and will continue until April 18, 2025. In the remaining divisions, this process will take place from March 17 to May 5, 2025.

Regarding this, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has issued necessary guidelines to the concerned officials. He stated that all essential arrangements will be made at procurement centers to ensure farmers receive fair prices for their crops under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme.

Facilities for Farmers at Wheat Procurement Centers:

Minister Govind Singh Rajput has directed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are available at procurement centers for farmers’ convenience. These facilities will include:

  1. Proper shelter arrangements
  2. Availability of drinking water
  3. Waiting rooms with mats and seating arrangements
  4. Toilets and electricity
  5. High-speed internet and electronic procurement equipment
  6. Information boards displaying real-time updates

Additionally, to increase awareness about MSP rates, social media platforms will be used to inform farmers.

Expected Wheat Production: 80 Lakh Metric Tons:

According to Principal Secretary Rashmi Arun Shami, Madhya Pradesh is expected to produce 80 lakh metric tons of wheat this year. So far, more than 2.91 lakh farmers have registered for the wheat procurement process.

Meanwhile, Food Commissioner Karmveer Sharma mentioned that small and marginal farmers will be given priority during the slot booking for procurement.

Registration Process and Deadline for Wheat Procurement:

Farmers must complete their registration by March 31, 2025, to participate in the wheat procurement process. Minister Govind Singh Rajput has urged farmers to register on time to ensure they can sell their produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Ways to Register for Wheat Procurement:

  • Online Registration: Farmers can apply through the e-Krishi portal.
  • CSC Centers: Registration can be done at the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or MP Online Kiosk.
  • Biometric Verification: New farmers must complete biometric Aadhaar authentication before registration.

Wheat Procurement Schedule (MSP Purchase Plan):

  • Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram divisions: March 1 to April 18, 2025
  • Other divisions: March 17 to May 5, 2025

 Important Notice: The government will ensure the quality of wheat purchased at MSP. The procurement process will remain transparent to guarantee fair prices for farmers.

As of now, 1,88,645 farmers from various districts in Madhya Pradesh have registered for wheat procurement. Here is a breakdown of some key districts:

  1. Indore: 17,298 farmers
  2. Ujjain: 30,215 farmers
  3. Bhopal: 6,911 farmers
  4. Sehore: 31,592 farmers
  5. Raisen: 9,128 farmers
  6. Vidisha: 7,026 farmers
  7. Narmadapuram: 6,951 farmers
  8. Rajgarh: 8,243 farmers
  9. Dewas: 11,215 farmers
  10. Ratlam: 5,684 farmers
  11. Shajapur: 14,209 farmers
  12. Mandsaur: 2,077 farmers
  13. Neemuch: 710 farmers
  14. Harda: 1,384 farmers
  15. Chhatarpur: 1,280 farmers

 Total Estimated Wheat Production: 80 Lakh Metric Tons

The Madhya Pradesh government has completed preparations for wheat procurement under the Rabi marketing season 2025-26. Procurement will begin on March 1 in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram divisions, while other divisions will start from March 17.
