The Madhya Pradesh government is now encouraging farmers to adopt modern farming techniques by providing financial assistance for setting up Shade Net Houses in their fields. Under this scheme, farmers will receive aid of up to ₹94,000 against a total cost of ₹1.24 lakh. Here’s the complete overview of the scheme:

What is a Shade Net House and Its Benefits?

A Shade Net House is a sturdy structure built in fields to grow crops while protecting them from extreme weather conditions. Key benefits include:

  • Crops are shielded from direct sunlight.
  • Reduced damage from pests and diseases.
  • Temperature regulation for healthier growth.
  • Protection against rain, hail, and strong winds.
  • Improved crop yield and quality.

This modern technique allows farmers to increase productivity while ensuring higher-quality harvests.

Major Benefits for MP Farmers

The scheme is implemented jointly by the Madhya Pradesh Horticulture Department and the organization Kheyti. Key details include:

  • Coverage: 240 sq. meters per Shade Net House
  • Total Cost: ₹1,24,000
  • Farmer Contribution: Only ₹30,000
  • Government & Organization Support: 50% from the Horticulture Department and 26% from Kheyti

This financial support significantly reduces the burden on farmers, making modern farming more accessible.

Where the Scheme Has Started

The project has initially been launched in rural areas of Sagar, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Raisen districts.
If successful and widely adopted by farmers, the scheme will be expanded to other districts.

  • Farmers will be selected at the cluster level.
  • Technical assistance and training will be provided for 1 year to help farmers implement modern farming techniques effectively.

Required Documents and Application Process

Farmers willing to avail the scheme need to prepare the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Land ownership papers (Khasra-Khatoni)
  • Bank account details
  • Passport-size photograph

Applications can be submitted at the district Horticulture Department office or the Block Development office. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important Note

The primary aim of this scheme is to increase farmers’ income and prepare them for climate-resilient agriculture. With Shade Net Houses, crop losses will reduce, yields will stabilize, and farmers will gain access to modern agricultural practices for sustainable growth.
