Farmers and livestock owners in Jharkhand have a reason to rejoice. The state government has launched a special scheme to promote goat farming, under which eligible beneficiaries can receive goats at up to 90% subsidy. The objective of the scheme is to make rural households self-reliant and to increase income sources through livestock-based activities.
Under the Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, beneficiaries opting for goat farming will receive 10 female goats and 1 male goat at subsidized rates.
This allows farmers to start goat farming at a minimal investment, making it a highly profitable venture.
The scheme does not just provide subsidies — it also offers training to beneficiaries. Participants will learn modern goat-rearing techniques, nutrition, disease management, and proper care.
Priority in subsidy allocation is also given to those who undergo the training. Interested individuals can attend training at their nearest Livestock Training Center.
Farmers wishing to benefit from this scheme can submit applications at their Panchayat or Block office. The following documents are required:
Applications will be selected based on eligibility criteria.
Goat farming is often referred to as the “dairy for the poor” because it requires low investment but offers high profits. This scheme provides a new direction for livestock farming in rural areas. It is especially beneficial for unemployed individuals or those seeking additional income.
If you are interested in goat farming, apply under the Jharkhand Government’s Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme to take advantage of this lucrative opportunity.
