Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major relief for farmers to make agriculture more modern and profitable. Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM), farmers can now purchase agricultural drones, crop residue management equipment, single agricultural implements, and set up Custom Hiring Centers (CHC) at subsidized rates.

Applications Started from 15 October, Deadline 29 October 2025

The Department of Agriculture, UP has opened online applications for the scheme starting 15 October 2025. Farmers can apply until 29 October 2025. Selection of applicants will be conducted via a lottery system, following a first-come, first-served principle.

Under this scheme, farmers can avail up to 50% subsidy or a fixed grant on selected agricultural equipment. This reduces financial burden and encourages the adoption of modern farming technologies.
