Farmers in Madhya Pradesh have received major relief as the state government has announced an increase of ₹175 per quintal in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of wheat. Now, the government will procure wheat at a rate of ₹2600 per quintal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made this announcement on Monday during a program in Dewas district.

Although an official order is yet to be issued, the Chief Minister's statement makes it clear that the government is committed to ensuring better prices for farmers. He also hinted that next year, the MSP for wheat could be increased to more than ₹2700, further benefiting farmers.

Decision by the Central and State Government:

For the Rabi Marketing Season 2025-26, the Central Government had earlier raised the wheat MSP by ₹150, setting it at ₹2425 per quintal. In addition, the Madhya Pradesh government has added a bonus of ₹175, bringing the total procurement price to ₹2600 per quintal.

Last year, Madhya Pradesh procured approximately 48.40 lakh tonnes of wheat, which was below the targeted amount. Given the rising wheat prices and farmer demands, the government has taken this crucial step to encourage higher procurement and better returns for farmers.

Wheat Procurement Registration Begins in Madhya Pradesh:

The Madhya Pradesh government has started the registration process for government wheat procurement. Farmers can register until March 31, 2025. Those who wish to sell their wheat at government-fixed rates must complete their registration in time through the e-Uparjan portal or their nearest Common Service Center (CSC).

Documents Required for Registration:

To complete the registration process, farmers need to submit the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Account Details
  • Land Ownership Documents (Khasra-Khatauni)

The last date for registration is March 31, 2025, so farmers must submit their details on time to be eligible for government wheat procurement.

This decision by the Madhya Pradesh government is a significant step in supporting farmers. By increasing the wheat MSP to ₹2600 per quintal, farmers will receive better prices for their crops, improving their economic stability and enabling higher production in the future.

If you wish to sell your wheat at government rates, register at the earliest and take advantage of this beneficial scheme!
