The ‘Aahar Setu’ app uses blockchain technology to ensure transparency in tracking the quality of poultry products. By scanning a barcode attached to the chicken, consumers can instantly retrieve all relevant information about the bird being sold at the shop, including its origin, health status, and rearing methods.
To access details, consumers simply need to scan the barcode on the chicken's neck using their mobile device. Once scanned, the app will display:

Dr. Indrajit Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Animal Sciences University, highlighted that the app’s blockchain-based system will store and share every stage of the poultry’s journey—from production, inspection, and maintenance to transportation—directly with consumers.
He noted that many diseases are now transmitted from animals to humans, posing serious health risks. The app is expected to help mitigate such risks by enabling consumers to choose safe and pure poultry products.
