Delhi Weather News: Delhi-NCR is completely immersed in dense fog, Meteorological department issued orange alert

According to the weather department, an orange alert for dense fog has been issued for Delhi on Saturday. The minimum temperature is expected to be 9°C and the maximum temperature around 20°C, which is slightly higher than January 3.

Severe cold conditions are being experienced in more than half of the country. Due to continuous snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir, temperatures in the plains have dropped. Dense fog has engulfed Delhi-NCR since early Saturday, causing disruptions in flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) and slow-moving traffic on roads. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog in Delhi.

In addition, severe cold is being experienced in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana-Punjab, and Rajasthan.

Orange Alert for Fog in Delhi: 

According to the weather department, an orange alert for dense fog is in effect in Delhi on Saturday. The minimum temperature is expected to be 9°C and the maximum temperature around 20°C, which is slightly higher than January 3. The cold will persist due to fog, and temperatures may continue to drop in Delhi in the coming days. A cold wave is also expected in January, with a slight chance of rain.

Light Snowfall Expected in Kashmir: 

Meanwhile, the cold wave continues in the mountains. The Srinagar Meteorological Center has predicted heavy snowfall for most parts of Jammu and Kashmir on January 4 and 6. Light snowfall has already occurred in higher areas of Jammu and Kashmir, and cloudy weather is expected from January 4-6. Light to moderate rainfall may occur in Jammu's plains, while heavy snowfall is expected in most areas.

Another Round of Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh: According to IMD's forecast, another round of snowfall and rain is expected in the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh. The weather department has issued an alert, stating that the fresh changes will lead to a further drop in temperatures. Fresh snowfall is expected in popular tourist destinations like Shimla, Kufri, and Manali.

Weather in Punjab and Haryana: An orange alert has been issued for extreme cold in Punjab's Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, and Amritsar districts. A yellow alert has been issued in some areas of Haryana. These conditions are prevalent in most cities and rural areas of Haryana, where people are facing severe cold. Rain is also possible in the coming days due to a western disturbance.
