People in Uttar Pradesh are shivering due to the severe cold. According to Atul Kumar Singh, a scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, the cold day conditions continue in the plains due to snowfall in the mountains. The maximum and minimum temperatures may slightly increase in the next 2-3 days.

The Meteorological Department reports that the cold winds from the mountains have caused the state's temperature to drop to 4°C. In Kanpur, the temperature has been recorded at 5°C. After several days, sunshine was observed in Lucknow on Thursday, providing some relief, while the rural areas continued to experience bone-chilling cold. The minimum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 7.4°C, and the maximum temperature was 17.1°C. According to the meteorological department, the maximum temperature in the state may rise by 2-3°C in the next 24 hours.

Dense fog expected on 4-5 January:

Atul Kumar Singh from the Regional Meteorological Centre stated that the weather may remain clear on 3 January, but light to moderate fog may appear in some areas during the late night and morning hours. No alert for cold waves or dense fog is expected, and there are no chances of rain. The weather will remain clear on 4-5 January, but fog alerts have been issued for some areas.

Kanpur temperature dropped to 5°C:
